Houston, South Eagles Football Club and Druk Houston Football club were off to flying start by winning their respective matches of the “Everest Warriors 2016 Spring Classic Nepalese Soccer tournament†at Houston, Texas.
In the opening match of the tournament; Druk Houston FC defeated Three Star Houston 4 – 0 to advance to the semifinal of the tournament. Ashish Rai, Sudeep Tamang, Roshan Rai and Rinche Sigdel netted one each for the winners.
In the second match of the opening day; South Eagles Football Club defeated Chandra Surya Football Club 2 – 0. Anuj and Biju netted one goal each for winners. With the win, South Eagles Football Club also advanced to the semifinal of the tournament.
Druk Houston FC will play Deadrunners FC and South Eagles Football Club will face hosts Everest HTown Warriors in the last four of the tournament. Both semifinals are scheduled to be played on April 30, 2016.
Everest HTown warriors, one of the active Nepalese community sports club based in Houston is organizing the tournament. Six teams; Deadrunners FC, South Eagles FC, Chandra Surya FC, Druk Houston FC, Three Star Houston and hosts Everest Warriors are participating in the first edition of the Spring Classic Knockout Soccer Tournament.
Established in 2014, Everest HTown Warriors is a Houston based Nepalese Community sports club. Currently they have soccer, basketball, volleyball and cricket teams. They organize Dashain Cup (5v5 Soccer tournament) and Spring Classic Knockout Soccer tournament every year.
